Story=Peace

It’s finally spring … the rebirth of old things and the promise of new things to come!  I decided in honor of the new season a reintroduction is in order.  My blog is called “Storypeace.”  My purpose for writing is to tell my story, and maybe even yours at times, in the hopes someone will read and be encouraged in their own journey.  I am a storyteller.  We all have a story to tell, don’t we? Nobody else has your story … so live and tell it well! “

“And I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in his grace until his task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns.”  (Philippians 1:6 TLB)

I am Sheri Riley Langley … a Christian, a wife to the best person I know, a mother to two grown-up amazing children, mother-in-law to an incredible man who is a kindred spirit to me.  I am “Nawny” to my two most beautiful and perfect grandchildren.  I am a wife to a man who faithfully loves and preaches Christ crucified. I am the family project manager for all our life endeavors, I am a traveler, a thinker, a writer, and I live every day clinging to the promises of God that His great grace and mercies are new every morning!  My goal is to faithfully live my life to God’s glory until He calls me home.

Peace. Everyone says they want it … they pray for it.  Beauty pageant contestants answer with the same disingenuous line…world peace; in hopes, they have struck a common cord.  People go to the ends of the earth to find it.  When we think we’ve found it, we lose it.  Countries fight for it.  Religions are built around it. Philosophers study it.  Frightened children, while lying in their little beds at night, pray for their moms and dads to know it.  Fortunes are spent pursuing it.  People give their lives for it.  People take their lives because they can’t find it.

The only lasting peace I have ever found was at the foot of the cross of Calvary. Jesus is our peace!  Just Jesus!  He is the only one who gives me the peace to actually live out this thing we call life.  So, as I began my blogging journey in 2015, I never questioned what to call it.  It is Storypeace!  It’s my story, shared with anyone who happens to read it in the hope it might lead him or her to the person of Jesus Christ, who is the Prince of Peace!

So, like you, I am a story in process…actively being made complete…an unfinished work, but I am promised I will be made complete, a final draft…then a perfectly accepted and published masterpiece…the author is Jesus. “ For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (Ephesians 2:10)
