The flame has been fanned for years and now here we are … white against black, black against white, every culture loathing every other culture, blaming everyone and not taking responsibility. Everyone’s irrational and angry. Our country is sick and it feels like we are terminal. We are the weakest we have ever been, and it seems like we are one of the most hated and disrespected countries in the world now, within and without. This is our presidents legacy!
I have no confidence in any man or woman who sets themselves up as a leader and then immediately turns to chisel away at our constitutional rights, our integrity, and our people, until we are all left unrecognizable, raw, dead and bleeding in the street (then he usually is nowhere around). There are no answers given, no hope displayed, no solution offered. Up is called down, and down is called up! The craziest thing of all is most people are acting like they believe that is now the truth, the new normal, and those who don’t agree are ridiculed. But the truth never changes … the truth has always been and will always be the truth! Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the father except through me.”
I rarely believe one thing said in the media or social media. I won’t be a sheep who blindly repeats things I hear on social media but can’t substantiate. I refuse to listen to those of our Christian brothers in higher positions of influence, who have set themselves up as little ‘mini me gods,’ pridefully telling other Christians what to believe and think. I won’t give in to the pressure to do a certain thing by my peers, simply because I was sent a post or link on Facebook to repost (I will never do that) … nor will I bow to government and media PC to show anger and outrage over a person or a group. These are all manmade political manipulations and are deplorable. They offer no substance or truth. The gospel of Jesus- His sacrifice for our sin, His death, His resurrection, that, is our only hope for reconciliation. I find my hope in Christ alone, not in a cause or protest created by man. I only listen to Him, for it is our common ground and source of truth. My ‘go to’ person for advise is Jesus, as my example, for everything in life.
I’m praying equally for all families hurt by this weeks appalling public murders and the millions of others everyday left out of the media’s light, but with equally deplorable acts committed against them and their families. These quietly grieve alone without fanfare and protests because their loss wasn’t news worthy for the political climate’s agenda. I urge you to just go to Jesus and stop listening to angry irrational voices looking for dissention. Jesus is our only answer, our only hope and peace!
This blog isn’t meant to tell you what to think or do or say on any of these issues. I am simply challenging you to stop and think before regurgitating what others are bullying you into thinking and saying. Use the brain God gave you and answer to Christ alone. Think for yourself — it will leave you respecting yourself knowing you stood up for the truth of God’s word and not a cause. Our cause as believers is to point all men to Jesus for salvation…“So if the Son set you free, you will be free indeed.”
Love Jesus, Love men, Make disciples!
John 8:31-47
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?” Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word. I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence, and you are doing what you have heard from your father. “Abraham is our father,” they answered. “If you were Abraham’s children,” said Jesus, “then you would do what Abraham did. As it is, you are looking for a way to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things. You are doing the works of your own father.”
“We are not illegitimate children,” they protested. “The only Father we have is God himself.” Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”
“Jesus is the way, the truth and the life no one comes to the Father except through Him.” -John 14:6
