True Worship

This is from my sermon notes condensed. To worship God in spirit involves complete devotion and his continual presence. This should be happening everyday of our lives. Our worship needs to be authentic, Biblical and Christ centered.

. “God is spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth…. Jesus declared to the woman at the well…I who speak to you am he.” John 4:24

“I will call upon the Lord who is worthy to be praised.” Psalm18: 3

“Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel proclaim in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seal and open the scroll?” But no one in heaven or in earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”   Revelation 5:1-5

I truly find my strength in worship. As I read scripture and pray listening to praise worship I find I am drawn into His presence. You might be best going outside and have a special spot. For me, it’s my room with the shutters open, the fireplace on at my blue desk and in my blue chair. Find the kind of music that speaks to your soul and use that. I’ve got a whole playlist of songs that really are my ultimate favorite for worship. When I’m struggling and need to be drawn into Jesus and focus, I put this playlist on. These songs are my heart songs.   What is so funny about this is that my playlist might seem dorky to you and drive you crazy but it’s what I love- we are all uniquely who we are made up of past experiences that are only yours. You have to find what music God uses in your life. Worship isn’t just about music but I’ve found combining elements of worship really speaks to me. Music is a powerful vehicle in our lives.

I pray this week would be an amazing week of worship between you and God.
